Sip beer with the sand between your toes and surfers in view. A 15-minute drive from Newquay, this is one of Cornwall’s coolest bars bang on the beach. Benches spread from the rustic interior onto the edge of a 2-mile stretch of sand pounded by Atlantic swell. What with cracking sunsets, a decent line-up of live music and a warm welcome to dogs, it's little surprise this place is a haven for surfers, dog walkers and families. Even though the food and service can be pretty average, there’s not much a cold plate of chips or a surly barmaid can do to tarnish the location or the uber-cool reputation of this place.
