We've always liked the cosy accommodation at The Yan in the heart of the Lake District, but Grasmere Glamping takes things to a new level, with their handmade bespoke Pod designed for couples wanting a romantic retreat or just a place bang in the centre of the Great Outdoors.

Situated on a former farm, it enjoys a lovely position, surrounded by some of the Lakes' best scenery, and instant access to many inspiring mountain and valley routes. Grasmere village is a short stroll away and there is a decent pub – the Traveller's Rest –  just two minutes' walk down the road.

As for the Pod, it's equipped with everything you might need for a luxurious stay while sacrificing none of the closeness to nature that makes glamping so special. Indeed 'Pod' perhaps isn't quite the right word – there's a lounge area with a large sofa, a wood-burning stove, a dining table with two chairs, and a wall-mounted flatscreen TV. There's also a fitted kitchen with oven, hob, small fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and all the pans, crockery and glasses you need – plus wifi, a bluetooth music system and electrical sockets with integrated USB chargers for your devices. The double bed has crisp white linen and the bathroom a shower, toilet, sink, heated towel rail and underfloor heating – and fluffy white towels. As if that wasn't enough, it's eco-friendly too – fully insulated and with a woodchip boiler providing hot water for and LED lighting throughout. If there is a cosier country bolthole for loved-up Lakeland walking folk, then we have yet to find it.

The Owner Says

The Yan Glamping: taking the outdoors to another level! Our luxury Lake District glamping pods have been hand built to our bespoke design for couples wanting a romantic retreat or a place to chill out for a few days.

Our two luxury Micro Lodge Pods are located on Broadrayne Farm in the very heart of the Lake District National Park. Broadrayne Farm, a former 17th-century farm, enjoys a sunny elevated position surrounded by some of Britain’s finest scenery, and there is instant access to many inspiring mountain and valley walks. The famous Coast to Coast route passes through the farm's land and the picturesque village of Grasmere is a short stroll away.

We also have a licensed Bistro on-site at Broadrayne Farm, Cumbria, where you can enjoy breakfast, an afternoon tea, evening meal or just a drink. Check out our example menu here: The Yan at Broadrayne Bistro.
