Owned by glass expert and Antiques Roadshow guru Andy McConnell, Glass Etc styles itself as a shop for ‘antiques and high class junk’ but it’s really so much more – a museum, arts centre and education facility as much as a shop, and a great place to find junk or art and everything in between. Housed in a former Salvation Army chapel with an adjacent exhibition gallery their stock is vast, though not all on view. Andy boasts a collection of around 30,000 pieces and with carefully selected wares the shop attempts to display glass, ironmongery and more, spanning from c1750 to the late early 1980s.
