On a quiet country road, in the sleepy village of Upton Magna, The Haughmond is a modern coaching inn, owned and run, since 2014, by husband-and-wife team Mel and Martin. Dog- and cycle-friendly, it's a splendid place for good food, atmosphere, surroundings and service, with a restaurant that's a destination in itself, with 3 AA rosettes and a Michelin Plate award. The calming greens, stag-themed artwork and quality furnishings complement the building's original character, and you can relax with your drink on leather sofas and tub chairs in the newly redecorated Basil’s Lounge. Or adjourn to the peaceful garden and enjoy the extensive views out over The Wrekin and surrounding countryside.
