Founded by Nicola Colchester and her husband, when they took over the Recruiting Sergeant in Coltishall, Colchester Inns is a terrific local Norfolk pub group, dedicated to providing great food, excellent service and comfortable rooms across the Norfolk Broads. Each of their five properties – in Coltishall, Aylsham, Blickling and Salhouse – is different. But they are all historic properties, where the emphasis is on properly good food and authentic hospitality. They don't claim to be posh, but the food is always a cut above what you'll find elsewhere, and their guest rooms are always cosy, contemporary and excellent value – everything, in short, that a proper pub should aspire to. They are one of our go-to recommendations for anyone spending time in the Norfolk Broads and around.
