We love a local chain and this is one of the best – just 4 very comfortable properties straddling the Essex-Suffolk border that were emphasising the holy trinity of good food, stylish rooms and great service long before it was fashionable in Britain to do so. Each one of their properties is different, but they all have a distinctive and very enticing relaxed charm – and fab restaurants that are destinations in themselves. Long may they reign!
