Welcome to the Cool Places website. As a Cool Places owner, you are part of a highly selective, independent group of businesses all special and unique in their own way. These guidelines are here to help you make the most of your Cool Places listing by using the owner features provided. If you have any problems using any of the owner features please get in touch.

Our neat little web badge is the best way to instantly promote the fact that you have been selected by Cool Places. You can right-click the badge below to save it to your computer, and surround it in a link to cool places, or use our embed code below.

Using your Owner Features
In order to access your owner features please log in to you entry, and click the my account button top right. Your sites will appear in a list on your account page for you, and you can click them to edit the entry.
You do not need to write much – in fact less is usually better. But this is a chance for you to engage directly with potential customers, who are much more likely to book if they feel they are in touch directly with the owner, and that there is something uniquely different about your property. Our advice is to keep it simple, honest and relevant.
Please note: this is not an area of the site for you to respond to reader reviews. If you have an issue concerning a reader review, please get in touch with us directly before taking action. If you get stuck using any of the features, just contact us.
Uploading images
As a Cool Places owner, you are able to upload images straight onto the site whenever you want. We encourage you to add images regularly as it gives readers a good insight into your business, plus Cool Places relies heavily on image content to help keep the site looking slick and current.
Image Guidelines
- To add an image go to your listing and click on the add image button. You will then be taken to the image edit area, where you will see the option to add an image file. Images must be high res (least 1MB in size or over) and landscape in order to appear correctly on the site.
- Most digital cameras will be good enough; your mobile phone probably won’t be unless it has a particularly good camera (5 mega-pixel or more). Images must be at least 1000 pixels wide, but ideally will be larger. Please do not resize images to make them smaller, and please check the size of the image if you have received it from another source. Please note: photos taken from websites will not be good enough quality.
- Photos with people in (whether they're posing or not) are encouraged. It gives character to an image and also to the place. Also, there’s nothing less interesting than a series of restaurant or hotel frontages, or rows of empty tables.
- You must also ensure that they are properly credited where neccessary.
