Eastern Scotland
Eastern Scotland covers a large area – from the beaches and historic towns of Fife in the south right up to Aberdeenshire and Moray in the north. Needless to say it's a tremendously diverse region, but the the tourism industry here is well established and wherever you go you can be sure to find some excellent hotels and B&Bs along with cabins, lodges and cottages that make the most of their locations on the coast and in the deep forests of what by any standards is a beautiful part of Scotland. Above all, the east of Scotland is a place to enjoy the Great Outdoors, starting with Fife whose beaches are among the country's best and extending right up to Aberdeenshire and the Cairngorms National Park, which is the UK's largest protected area of unspoilt natural beauty. Also in Fife, St Andrews is the east coast's most historic city, not only known as the 'home of golf' but also site of the nation's oldest and most prestigious university. Not surprisingly, the city's blend of historic buildings and atmospheric old town, seaside location (it has a couple of superb beaches) and vibrant cultural life, with plenty of restaurants and pubs, make it one of Scotland's nicest places to spend a few days.Best Places to Stay in Eastern Scotland Holidays – Accommodation and Places to Stay in Eastern Scotland I Cool Places
