Old Mill Hotel
Town Path West Harnham Salisbury SP2 8EU
A gem of a country pub that rewards those who make the short walk across meadows to Harnham suburb. Built as England’s first paper mill circa 1500, now a snug pub and good restaurant, it comes into its own on balmy summer days due to a setting on the river: if there are better ways to lose a sunny afternoon in Salisbury than on its front terrace or rear beer garden with an ale or two, then they’re keeping them quiet. Accomodation is also available and made up of 11 ensuite rooms, all furnished in a simple traditional country style with either a view over the river or the pleasant mill pond curved around the garden.
