Baggins Book Bazaar

We have to say that we absolutely love this place, which is basically one of the best secondhand bookstores you find anywhere, period. Situated in the heart of Rochester, if you have the slightest interest in books it would be a sin to leave town without crossing its threshold. It has a huge stock that extends throughout a very extended building, up stairs and down passages that harbour all manner of arcane sections and subjects – enticing you to while way hours browsing just like a secondhand bookshop should.  It claims to be the biggest secondhand bookshop in Britain – which of course many others do, but after an hour or two rummaging through its groaning shelves you get the feeling they may have a point. They also run a search and order service, have lots of books on local history and Kent and host occasional readings and events.
