Gannets

Something of a Newark institution, Gannets has been popular with local townsfolk for the last few decades. It’s an informal sort of place with shared tables, modern decor and counter service. The wide-ranging menu, which features local produce, covers all the basics, but its pies, salads and bakes are a special highlight.  Look out also for Gannets programme of special events, at which the menu gets upgraded to more dinner-style fare - for example venison haunch braised with chilli and dark chocolate, potato rosti, morels and red wine sauce. At these special events, a three-course set meal costs £25.
