Ulster Rugby's Ravenhill Stadium
Ravenhill Stadium, 85 Ravenhill Park, Belfast BT6 0DG
The Ulster Rugby team has its own loyal following of supporters and season ticket holders but match night (usually a Friday) at the Ravenhill Stadium also provides a fantastic evening of entertainment for visiting rugby fans and families. In recent years the team has consistently performed well in both the Celtic League and the Heineken Cup, resulting in an electric atmosphere. The supporter chant of "Stand Up for the Ulster Men" (sung to the tune of the Pet Shop Boy's 'Go West') can be heard echoing around the stands at regular intervals, especially when the team is playing well. A night at Ravenhill also provides the opportunity to see a number of Ireland International players do their stuff at close quarters... Within the grounds you'll find fast food kiosks offering everything from Gourmet Pies and Burgers to Crepes. There is also a licensed bar and a number of coffee stands. Matches are often a Sell Out with tickets sold in advance via Ticketmaster and the team's website. Occasionally some might be available at the ground before the kick off but this is usually announced via the team's website or Face Book page. The 2014/2015 season will see the crowd capacity increase to 18,000 with the opening of the ground's new stands.
