The Limelight first opened its doors in 1984 and has hosted a wide and diverse range of live performances from John Martyn to Primal Scream and Two Door Cinema Club to Slayer... Recent expansion has seen the interior broken down into two separate venues; Limelight 1 and Limelight 2. In addition there's Katy Daly's pub and the Rock Garden outdoor terrace. On Club nights all four spaces are often used, i.e. Tuesday's Circus Night sees four DJs, circus performers and animal dancers perform across the entire complex. Check the website for the current list of Club Nights and themes. A stream of live performers grace the stage at both Limelight 1 and Limelight 2 on a regular basis. Join the Limelight mailing list to be the first to hear about upcoming shows or check the venue's listings on Ticketmaster. It's a popular haunt for the city's students and young people on Club Nights while the venue's intimacy makes it a favourite for music lovers of all ages when there are live gigs on. The addition of the Rock Garden terrace increases its popularity on summer evenings.
