Ross's Cafe
37 Montgomery Street Belfast BT1 4NX
A leisurely browse through Ross's Auction House in Montgomery Street is a long established tradition for locals. Renowned in particular for art sales it is always worth a detour from the main shopping streets, and now even more so that it has its own cafe. Accessed from the street, this basement cafe, with its exposed white washed brickwork offers a cool space to unwind. An array of artwork adorns the walls as you would expect. The lunch menu changes daily but the treats permanently on offer include a breakfast menu that promises steaming hot porridge drizzled in honey, and, for lunch, made-to-order sandwiches and wraps. The curries come highly recommended, as does the coq au vin, which arrives with a generous portion of freshly made crusty bread. Everything is reasonably priced, so if you're there on a Thursday morning you may have enough pennies left over to allow you to nip back upstairs to place a bid on that must-have item that you never knew you wanted!
