Cream o' Galloway
Rainton Gatehouse of Fleet Castle Douglas Kirkcudbrightshire DG7 2DR
Cream o' Galloway used to be a dairy farm. Then they diversified into producing ice cream as well. The cold stuff proved rather good indeed so they added a few bits of play equipment to keep visiting families occupied. Today the Cream o' Galloway success story is a remarkable one as they have grown into one of southern Scotland's top family attractions. As well as, of course, being able to sample the famous ice cream in its myriad variations and take an ice cream themed tour, wee ones can spend hours playing in their massive theme park-style play area. There are hulking climbing tours, adrenaline pumping slides, go karts and much, much more. This is still very much a working farm so in season there is also the chance for kids to pop over and help feed the lambs. The on site cafe serves the Cream o' Galloway ice cream as well as burgers using beef from their own cattle.
