RRS Discovery
Discovery Point Discovery Quay Dundee DD1 4XA
Dundee’s most best-known tourist attraction is its most famous ship, the RRS Discovery, a sturdily built product of its maritime Golden Age, which is now fittingly back on the city’s waterfront. The River Tay once buzzed with vessels as Dundonian accented sailors travelled the High Seas. This most elegant of tall ships is synonymous with Captain Scott and his ill-fated expedition to the South Pole, and today it is open as a museum that delves back through the centuries for kids and big kids alike. It is great for just rambling around, with the museum exhibits doing a great job of illuminating its colourful history.
