The Sea Bed Restaurant

The Sea Bed Restaurant at the Anchor Hotel is the star attraction of the busy Loch Fyne fishing port of Tarbert. Right on the waterfront, it specialises in taking the best from the fishing boats lined up outside. Starters include Loch Fyne oysters and plump locally landed langoustines, while mains throw in a taste of the Mediterranean with a stew bursting with tomatoes, huge king scallops, chunks of haddock, plump mussels and more local langoustines. The curry and sultana bread makes an unlikely but winning culinary marriage with the rich stew juices. Real thought has gone into the wine list too, with a decent Chilean Sauvignon Blanc at under £20 alongside a more pricey Sancerre, both of which are the perfect match for the seafood.
