Every inch the romantic Scottish castle, this much-photographed eye-catching beauty has attracted the repeated attention of Hollywood in films from Highlander to James Bond. It is easy to see why, as she rests on a little island in a sea loch, with a cute stone bridge leading over. Brooding hills ripple all around and the Skye Cuillin Hills shine in the distance on a good day. There's not much to see in the castle, but it's worth a ramble around and the visitor centre fills you in on a bit of historical background.
