The Green Welly Stop

This is something of a Scottish institution, and an essential stop when you are heading north into the Highlands on the Road to the Isles. Yes, they sell petrol, but this is no mere service station; they also have a café, restaurant and shops where you can stock up on everything from shortbread and tablet through to huge posters of Scotland and all things tartan. It is not just tourist tat either – you can snare a very good bottle of whisky here too. Oh, and of course you can also buy wellies here, green or otherwise.
