Brambles Seafood & Grill

Given Arran’s growing reputation for world-class local produce it is no surprise that it is home to a flurry of good restaurants. Brambles, at the landmark Auchrannie Resort, may not be the hotel’s signature eatery (that honour goes to Eighteen69), but it is a superb and good-value place to try some local seafood, venison culled in the Arran Hills and lamb from around the village of Pirnmill. Even the island’s award winning Arran Blue cheese gets in on the act as a lip smackingly fine sauce to go with the aged steaks that star on a menu boasting plenty of grilled meat and fish choices, as well as sharing platters and more intricate dishes.
