As our colleagues at Cool Camping say, this campsite and hostel, just four miles north of St Davids on the Pembrokeshire Coast, will have you dancing a little jig of joy as soon as you’ve arrived, with stunning views across the sea from what is by any standards a spectacular clifftop location.
Situated on a National Trust-owned farm, it's run by the softly-spoken Ian Griffiths, who with his wife Judy opened the site back in 1992, with just a small field. Since then he has expanded the camping into further fields and converted some of the old stone barns to bunkhouses. The camping is deliberately simple with no minimum stay and campfires permitted, and there are three cosy bunkhouses – a big one made up of three eight-bed dorms and two private rooms, a smaller one with two six-bed dorms, and Ivy Lodge, which has a six-bed dorm and an eight-bed dorm. Each has kitchen facilities and communal bathrooms, a sitting room, and crockery, bedding and everything else you might need. Everything is also spotless, pricing is simple and you can either rent on a bed-and-breakfast basis or self-cater.
It's fabulous for groups, who can take over an entire bunkhouse for themselves, and great for those who want to take advantage of the outdoor activities the coast offers here, with bushcraft and survival skills available on-site and coasteering, surfing, sea kayaking and more available nearby, followed by a hog roast supper or surf-and-turf barbecue at the end of the day. There's also a sheltered swimming cove down below, Whitesands and Newgale beaches are nearby, and you couldn't be better placed for this magnificent stretch of the Pembrokeshire Coast, with the coastal path on your doorstep. We reckon there's no better value place from which to enjoy it all.

Facilities
Suitable For
We allow everything on-site from tents, trailer tents, campervans, caravans and motorhomes including well-behaved dogs (and owners). Any type of group is welcome, however, we would ask that Stag and Hen groups refrain from coming here during the main camping periods, as we are a family-orientated site. So if you are a first-time camper or a seasoned camper we are sure that the site you provide you with everything you need.
Please though remember, we are a coastal campsite and with amazing sea views and open space, we can be subjected to windy weather. To that end, campers need to ensure that arrive here with the correct camping equipment and knowledgeable in not only how to erect their tents but also the functionality of their camping vehicles' caravans or campervans.
Please understand that if you are looking for a Caravan Camping Club type site, then that is not what we provide - we are open field, rustic camping that has been enjoyed by thousands of people over the years. Additionally, we do not allocate individual pitches - our ethos has very much been down to your as individuals to find a pitch that suite you and your requirements rather than being forced into a site that is not suitable for you and your camping needs - clearly when the site is full then you have to go with what is available - but we have loads of room, so there is space on site for everyone.
Included in the price are the use of communal fridges and freezers plus washing machines and tumble driers. Please note these are there for everyone's use and should not be hogged. Additionally, we have provided WiFi across site - and whilst is it limited to the building areas it is enough for you to pick up emails etc and social media. However, if you are looking to download films with massive data then this is not what we have provided it for. Besides, there are 186 miles of Pembrokeshire coastal path there for you to enjoy, we also have loads of amazing beaches for you to explore and get away from those mobile screens. 😎👍

The pebble beach is a 10-minute walk away – just off the coast path. It’s small but has rockpools and is good for swimming. Or ramble along the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path for just over 30 minutes towards Abereiddi’s famous Blue Lagoon. For the activities, we use external providers and you are welcome to book directly with them. Food & Drink
There are lots of places that you can visit locally and whilst we are slightly remote taxis are not a problem. There is also a local bus service that runs infrequently up and down the coast road. St Davids, which is 4 miles away, has a number of really good pubs The Bishops and The Farmers Arms, along with some cracking hotel restaurants; St Davids Cross Hotel and The Grove Hotel.
In the other direction, Porthgain, which is a tiny fishing village with a famous pub called "The Sloop"; which serves fine ales and very good food and is set in a beautiful location. Also in Porthgain, you can also find the fabulous fish restaurant 'The Shed' which serves up delicious fish and chips and freshly caught fish specials.
If you are looking for breakfast you can either eat here on-site, (when we are open) or venture into St Davids where you will find The Mill cafe and Pilgrims Cafe at Oriel y Prac but if you are looking for something different there is the amazing restaurant The Really Wild Emporium.
There is also CK's NISA convenience store and supermarket which provides just about all your needs - this is situated 4 miles away in St Davids. For those who need a little more both Tescos and Morrison drop off on-site.

Farm machinery and the on site pond (although this is ringed by a fence) to be mindful of, and you’re on a cliff-top.
