Arts Theatre
6 St Edward’s Passage Cambridge CB2 3PJ
West End pre-runs with major names often settle into this small theatre, originally paid for by economist John Maynard Keynes. A springboard for a Who’s Who of British comedy as one-time host of the Footlights review, it hosts everything from modern plays to musicals via Shakespeare and classics. If you want to feel like you were the first to discover a new gem of British theatre then the Arts Theatre is a good place to start but those looking for well established touring groups are also well catered for. As with most things in Cambridge it is relatively small in comparison with the modern equivalent, all part of the charm of this modest and traditional theatre.
