The largest collection of historic aircraft in Europe, Duxford has grown from a small time display to a booming museum with an air show that draws thousands each summer. From vintage biplanes to space-age jets like the SR-71 Blackbird there's an endless amount of aircrafts to see, plus the airfield’s World War II Operations Room, provides a chance to watch restorers at work. Its not all aeroplanes though, two of the newer hangers host army vehicles and land-based artefacts from wartimes past. The finest air museum in Europe, Duxford is both a family destination and somewhere for history buffs who want to nose around the inside of a Concorde or learn the mechanics of a biplane.
