Walk to Grantchester
Mill Lane Cambridge
Start at the punting station to track the River Cam south as it meanders for five miles through idyllic countryside. The going is flat, the path well-marked and your goal is Grantchester village. The walk is a great break in the summer from the busy centre and not at all demanding. A leisurely stroll past open fields, banks of cow parsley and the rippling river before arriving at your destination. ‘Is there honey still for tea?’ asked war poet and resident Rupert Brooke. Luckily, yes – and a pint.
