Queens’ College
Queens Lane Cambridge CB3 9ET
Queens is amongst the oldest and largest colleges at the university, founded back in 1448, and is home to the buildings that are most recognisably 'cambridge'. Stephen Fry’s former college is a timewarp of Tudor brick and half-timbering that preserves the self-contained world of a medieval college. Everyone knows the bridge behind as the ‘Mathematical Bridge’ due to a myth that it was self-supporting until dismantled by students to examine its architecture. Actually, the original was built with bolts in 1751 and connects what is colloquially referred to as the "light side" and the "dark side".
