St Mary’s
Mould a seat in the sand with your back to the Sailing Centre and gig sheds. A haven for windsurfing and sailing, Porthmellon sits on the outskirts of Hugh Town and is just a taste of the sort of beaches clinging to the shores of St Mary’s. Unperturbed by civilisation and the tangle of boats moored out to sea, seals pop up in the shallows, cormorants dive into aquamarine waters and waders strut up and down the golden shoreline.
