St Martin’s
Isles of Scilly
Somewhat of a family beach holiday haven, and once home to the majority of the islands’ commercial flower farms, these days St Martin’s is more renowned for its vast beaches where the hues of gold and aquamarine seem more vivid than anywhere else on the islands. Swathes of marram grass wave from the dunes, while mile-upon-mile of white sands beg for barefoot wandering and long, lazy days with picnics and buckets and spades. Footsteps from the coast is a trove of craft galleries and teashops which slip away towards a vineyard and a tapestry of farmland.
