This upmarket fish restaurant, part of the successful nationwide chain, occupies one of the city’s most atmospheric venues, a former jailhouse dating from 1509, with wooden beams throughout and, upstairs, an original fireplace. Tuck into shellfish and oysters, or kippers and salmon from the smokehouse at Cairndow. Produce comes straight up from the port of Southampton and is always freshly caught, while other ingredients are locally sourced as much as possible.
