The Lytton Arms
Park Lane, Old Knebworth, Hertfordshire SG3 6QB
There's nothing like a really good country pub, and the Lytton Arms is one of those that just ticks all the boxes. Is it in an attractive villages? Tick! Does it accept dogs? Tick! Does it have a beer garden? Tick! Does it serve good food? Double Tick! What's more, it's on the route of some wonderful country walks and very handy for visiting the nearby estate of Knebworth House, the owners of which gave their name to the pub.
All in all then, the Lytton Ams is both a cosy and at the same time throughly up-to-date village local, a destinmatino place to eat and a handy pitstop on a day out in the countryside. It ghas a logn and served reputation for serving good beer, and (like the other pubs in the Anglian Country Inns group) it supplements this with an inventive and mouthwatering menu that is a perfect balance of pub classics and more refined fare, plus they offer sandwiches at lunchtime. It's a cut above most pub food by a long way, and is locally sourced and seasonal (for example venison and game from the Knebworth estate), and can be enjoyed in the cosy bar, a modern and airy conservatory dining area or in the garden if the weather is up to scratch. As we said, it's a country pub that ticks all the boxes!
