It's a competitive business out there in the world of spa hotels and breaks, and Ragdale Hall delivers on just about every count you can think of: it's housed in a elegant old building set in beautiful rolling countryside; the staff, service and above all the treatments are excellent – and excellent value – whether you're here as a day visitor or overnight guest; there are two lovely indoor pools, as well as an outdoor pool and lots of other outside activities including tennis courts. The range of treatments on offer is wide and of high quality, with everything from deep tissue massages to glitzy pre-wedding makeovers to holistic and alternative methods like acupuncture, reflexology, reiki and more. There's also the fabulous Thermal Spa – a sort of Disneyland for pampered adults with saunas, pools, healing caves and salt baths. Perfect for couples, men can have a Clarins Facial or Indian Head Massage followed by a meet in the restaurant afterwards to compare notes. The food in the restaurant is very good, healthy, but not at all about denial.
