Right in the centre of the long, straggling village of Hickling, The Greyhound has undergone a new lease of life in recent years, under the devoted stewardship of Tony, Deb and Bertie, who run what is a great, traditional village pub, with a cosy main bar and separate restaurant serving fairly unadventurous but solid and well-cooked pub food – excellent burgers and steaks, whitebait, and several veggie options. The pub is a keen local supporter of the village and pretty much everything that happens here and on nearby Hickling Broad, and they source as much of their produce from local providers as is possible. They always have a good range of local beers too, usually including Wherry and an Adnams ale.
