The Olive Branch
21 West End Hebden Bridge West Yorkshire HX7 8UQ
This tiny Turkish restaurant by the traffic
lights in the middle of Hebden is a bit of a hidden gem; its exterior is so modest it’s easy
to walk by, but you’d be missing out. They do two courses for £12.95 most
nights (except Saturday); their falafel (light, fragrant, homemade) is sensational; follow it with lamb kebab – again, made from scratch, succulent and tender,
served with a bulgar wheat salad, hummous and yogurt. A glass of wine takes the
bill to £15. Wholesome, honest food at a price that makes the recession feel
like history.
