Ski-ing Doo Restaurant

One of Aviemore's first restaurants and still one of the quirkiest, the Ski-ing Doo isn't shy about serving up big platefuls of hearty fodder from a menu that features some out-there artwork. The burgers are particularly good – with some very special sauces on offer – and the ice cream servings are legendary. The staff couldn't be much friendlier and there's a good range of ales (including the local drop from the Cairngorms Brewery). There's now a lively bar downstairs – the Doo Below – where locals and snow-boardy types sup beers, exchange yarns from the slopes and watch extreme skiing vids.
