Hebrides Cruises
Craigard Connell Oban PA37 1PT
Until recently adventurous souls desperate to get out to the remote St Kilda archipelago (a full 40 miles west of the already remote Outer Hebrides) could only get a sniff of the islands on a day trip or a cruise ship. In 2014 experienced skipper Rob Barlow started running week-long voyages in his well equipped Elizabeth G. These live-aboard cruises allow the necessary flexibility for planning a suitable window for getting out to St Kilda, with some groups able to enjoy three days out there, as well as exploring both the Inner and Outer Hebrides. Cruises of the latter two island groups are also available, as are private charters. There are enough cabins to comfortably sleep 12 and a large galley space where all meals are served. Handily Rob is a qualified diver so he often hand dives for king scallops for dinner. Wildlife expert and photographer Chris Gomersall is often on hand on trips too.
