Coll Hotel

You might have come a long to way to get here, but most of what you eat here hasn't. Coll Hotel’s Gannet Restaurant on the eponymous island serves fresh island vegetables and herbs, meat and fish on a menu stuffed full of the sort of quality ingredients that city chefs salivate over. Start with Coll crab salad with Coll egg, anchovy and black olives or seared Coll scallops with crispy Parma ham, garlic and spinach. The equally stunning mains include homemade spaghetti with fresh local lobster and Coll mutton loin chops with a herb crust served with sautéed potatoes and greens. Dine in the bar area or the dining room in this old whitewashed hotel and then enjoy a drink outside as the sun sets over the Hebrides and you watch the yachts come in. Bliss.
