National Museum of Flight
East Fortune Airfield East Lothian EH39 5LF
This old military airfield in East Lothian has been converted into a family friendly museum that celebrates both military and civilian aircraft. The old hangers have been turned into exhibition halls laden with all manner of aircraft. The most famous resident is one of the few remaining Concordes. You get to board this graceful old lady and explore her surprisingly tight confines. Elsewhere you can board planes, play on simulators and learn more about the history of the airfield itself. The cafe in on old Nissan shed is a nice touch. The annual air show in summer brings aerobatic displays and is a great time to visit.
