Cardiff Bay
Cardiff Bay Cardiff CF10 4DQ
It used to be known as Tiger Bay, now it's simply Cardiff Bay, and is unrecognisable from the grimy dockland area of just a few years ago. At a cost of £1.8 billion, the development of the Bay was one of Europe's most comprehensive regeneration projects. The result is a fantastic complement of museums, restaurant and bars (the Mermaid Quay quarter), venerable old buildings such as the Pierhead and Norwegian Church, and newer, equally glorious structures like the Millennium Centre and State Assembly building. It's justifiably enormously popular, and on a warm summer’s day the Bay is absolutely buzzing with locals and visitors alike.
