Cardiff Waterbus
Mermaid Quay Cardiff
A trip along the Taff is one of the most enjoyable ways to see Cardiff. Aquabuses ply a route between Bute Park, near the castle, and Mermaid Quay down in the Bay, passing the Millennium Stadium along the way – depending on the river flow, however, some services begin a little further downstream at Taff’s Mead Embankment (opposite the stadium itself). A second operator (Cardiff CATS) ferries passengers in its dinky yellow vessels from Mermaid Quay down to the southern end of the barrage at Penarth, providing lovely views back towards the bay. Taking a waterbus is also a useful way of reaching the barrage if you don’t fancy walking.
