Cardiff Story
The Old Library Trinity Street Cardiff CF10 1BH
Sitting pretty in the heart of Cardiff’s main pedestrianised thoroughfare, the sandy-coloured Old Library houses both the tourist information centre and the brand new Cardiff Story. This kiddie-friendly exhibition documents the city’s colourful past through bold audio-visual displays and interactive gadgets and gizmos, with particularly fine coverage of the coal mining and docks industries and the roles they played in shaping the city. Although not part of the exhibition itself, it's worth taking a peek at the stunning tiled corridor, which formed the original library entrance at what is now the rear of the building; the gorgeous floor-to-ceiling tiles were produced by Maw & Co in 1882.
