Pembrokeshire has gained a bit of a name for itself in recent years for adrenaline sports, and in particular for its cliff-umping opportunities, with the Blue Lagoon at Abereiddi being a prime venue for thrill-seekers looking to plummet from a great height into the ocean. Bear in ind it's not the best of ways to get your kicks unless you know what you’re doing – people get carted off to hospital every year having overestimated their Tom Daley abilities – so it will be great to see experts in action at the Blue Lagoon this weekend in the penultimate event of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, which sees competitors from all over the world leaping off a 27-metre platform above the lagoon, free-falling for three seconds whilst performing various somersaults and twists and then hitting the water at 85 km/hr with – ideally – the tiniest of splashes.
