A luxury three-bed barn conversion on the Bedfordshire/Cambridgeshire borders, the Old Dairy is an ideal countryside escape for friends or family. Situated amidst glorious, open, countryside, with walks and bike-rides literally on your doorstep, and plenty of things to do in the surrounding area, it's a terrific place to hole up and forget about the world for a while – in a beautiful, lovingly converted barn that boasts every possible comfort, both inside and out.
Above all the Old Dairy is a spacious and also eco-friendly property, with a large open-plan living area, beamed ceilings, underfloor heating powered by a ground-source heat pump and a cosy wood-burning stove well stocked with wood and kindling. There's a large and well-equipped kitchen, a dining and sitting area, and a quiet snug nearby. Both have Smart TVs with Sky, Netflix and Amazon Prime, and there is super-fast wifi throughout, an Alexa speaker, plus a downstairs boot-room and WC.
The barn's three spacious bedrooms all have en-suite bathrooms (provided with top soaps and toiletries) and super-comfy beds with high quality linen. One, on the ground floor, has a double bed and bathrooms with walk-in shower and freestanding bath, while the two upstairs bedrooms are both super-kings (one can be made up as twin beds) with walk-in showers, and one has a freestanding bath as well. Each bedroom has a desk area and there is also a desk on the mezzanine floor above the living space. The kitchen and living room open out to the garden, which is gorgeous – very secluded and beautifully planted, with a central lawn and paved patio with outdoor furniture, a gas barbecue and firepit for long al fresco evenings. There is also a jacuzzi-style hot tub available for a small charge.
The house has plenty of opportunities for walking and cycling close by, with lots of bridleways and footpaths that you can access directly from the property. You don't have to go near a road if you don't want to, and if you're a keen horse-rider you can even bring your own horse – they have stabling on-site, and Keysoe Equestrian Centre is 10-minutes away. Besides walking, cycling and horseriding, Grafham Water is 15 minutes' away by car and hosts lots of water-based activities (as well as a great bike route and bikes for hire) while the activities you can try at nearby Twinwoods Adventure Centre include skydiving, surfing, racing, climbing, and archery! Sporting Targets, one of the UK's best clay pigeon centres, is also just down the road. Whether you're packing your walking boots or your slippers, The Old Dairy is a wonderful rural escape.
