Nestled on a hill overlooking Lynmouth, a quaint village referred to as 'where Exmoor meets the sea', is a collection of deluxe apartments that offer an excellent base for a North Devon holiday. Perfect for couples, families and groups of friends, they range in size from one to three bedrooms and some are dog-friendly. Depending on which apartment you choose, you'll enjoy glorious vistas of the Bristol Channel and the Atlantic Ocean beyond, or Watersmeet, with its dramatic river gorge and rich woodland.

The apartments reside in the same building and are finished with meticulous attention to detail, yet each has its own style. For example, go for two-person Lookout View and be greeted by a light and airy romantic bolthole with wooden flooring, crisp white walls and a water-facing balcony. Opt for River View and you'll find a pair of bedrooms on the top floor and an open-plan layout below, with glass doors leading out to a terrace boasting Lynmouth Harbour panoramas. Four-person Lyn View looks out to the river from the private patio, has a log burner in the lounge for colder days and is split level, while three-bedroom Surf View is a duplex with characterful wooden beams and several decked areas overlooking the beach and harbour. Whichever you pick, all have well-equipped kitchens, contemporary bathrooms (some en-suite), outdoor space and off-road parking. And it's worth noting that most beds are zip and link – for instance, Watersmeet View has two bedrooms that can be set up as king-size or twins.

Out and about, Lynmouth is a short walk away, and you can visit neighbouring Lynton via the Cliff Railway, the highest and steepest water-powered funicular in the world. You're also well-positioned to explore North Devon on foot via the South West Coast Path, and Exmoor National Park and Somerset are within easy reach by car.
