With spectacular views over Langland Bay on the Gower Peninsula in South Wales, this ultra-contemporary two-bedroom holiday home packs a lot of wow factors into one property. It's in a great location, handy for the beaches and resorts of the Gower. It's built to a unique modern design, extremely comfortable, and fitted out with just about every amenity you could think of. Mostly, though, it's just a tremendous place to spend a few days – quite unlike anywhere else you may have stayed before.
Beach Rocks is thoughtfully conceived, an 'upside-down-property with two cosy bedrooms on the ground floor and a large open-plan living area upstairs – a room which runs all the way from the front to the back of the building and is bathed throughout with natural light. The decor is crisp and modern with a palette of greys, black and white, and the layout very functional, with a lounge area that makes the most of the sea views, a dining area behind and a dream kitchen beyond that, equipped with oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, induction hob, dishwasher, coffee machine, washing machine and tumble dryer – and an island with sink, hob and breakfast bar. Beyond here, floor-to-ceiling doors lead out to a small private patio with a barbecue and garden furniture, while downstairs the main bedroom monopolises the views through more floor-to-ceiling windows and has an en-suite shower room. Down the hall there's a small bedroom with twin beds and a family bathroom with a Japanese style bath/shower.
Beach Rocks is a wonderful property either for a loved-up couple with outdoorsy inclinations or a young family with small children. The Blue Flag beach of of Langland Bay is right there, and it's also easy to access the huge sandy expanse of Caswell Bay, two miles away by way of the path around the headland. In the other direction, you can follow a footpath a mile across the peninsula to the lively resort of Mumbles, before returning with a certain sense of smug satisfaction that you are staying in one of the most desirable properties on this stretch of coast. Beach Rocks? You bet it does!
