If you're looking for an off-grid, farm-based retreat, then you have come to the right place at Springfield Farm. Their beautiful collection of bell tents is not only situated in one of Devon's most beautiful regions – close to the north Devon coast at Braunton but also within striking distance of Exmoor – but they have also been so thoughtfully kitted out that even the most reluctant glamper will feel comfortable. And the view when you wake up in the morning is unforgettable.

Springfield Farm sits in a perfect hilltop location overlooking the Taw river a few miles south of Braunton, close to the majestic beaches of Saunton Sands, Croyde Bay and Woolacombe. They have ten bell tents in all – each furnished with a double bed and two single pull-out beds and comfortably sleeping four people (they include bottom sheets but you have to bring your own duvets and pillows). There are bedside tables and chests for storage, rugs on the floor and light is provided with solar-powered fairy lights. Outside, there are firepits for al fresco cooking and feasting, with all pots, pans, utensils and crockery provided, and each tent has access to hot showers and toilets in a separate block nearby. Extras like a solar panel battery charger, water heaters and log-burning stoves are also available at a small extra cost per night.

It's a fantastic way to experience the great outdoors while retaining as much comfort as you desire, and you couldn't be in a better location: footpaths radiate out across the farm and through the surrounding Devon countryside – plus it's dog-friendly. Remember, though, that you're on a farm so dogs need to be kept on a lead at all times. The good news is that there's plenty of opportunity to meet, feeding and pet the animals; you can even collect your own eggs for breakfast. Devon Heaven, to be sure.

Nearby

Most notably nearby are the North Devon beaches, Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe are no more than 30 minutes drive away and are home to stunning views and great surf. Exmoor National Park has some of the best walks in the area and is a short drive away. If you’re looking to keep the kids entertained, The Big Sheep has both indoor and outdoor amusements as well as animal shows and feeding. A day shopping the Exeter high street is made easy thanks to the train from Barnstaple train station.

Food & Drink

The nearest pub is The Reform in Pilton, Barnstaple at 2miles away. Also close by is the Muddiford Inn, just 3 miles from your glamping site across the backroads. There are a number of pubs, bars and restaurants in Braunton and Barnstaple, both an easy 10 minute drive away.
