Shepherd's View

The hut is actually a little larger than most – 22 x 8 feet – and those extra inches make all the difference. It has a full double bed complete with a luxury mattress, an en-suite shower room with a toilet and wash basin and a fold-away dining table and stools. There's a decent sofa, FreeSat TV, electric heating and a wood-burning stove with kindling and logs. The kitchen includes a built-in combination oven/microwave, a fridge with a small freezer, a hob, kettle and toaster, and all the cutlery and crockery you might need. Bed linen, towels and robes are also provided. Although there's no WiFi, the phone signal is pretty good.

The hut is light and full of windows that look out onto its own garden area, where you'll discover a BBQ and comfy seating for al fresco meals, plus of course, your very own hot tub. It's adults-only and they don't accept pets, but the countryside around completes what is a tailor-made romantic escape – there are walks to follow from the property, and tons of wildlife to spot along the way. You can walk the nearby Cateran Trail, take in the picturesque Reekie Linn Falls or just drop into one of the local distilleries, including one devoted to gin! In the nearby village of Kirkmichael, you'll find a good pub, with more places to eat in Blairgowrie. Or join the high-adrenaline enthusiasts who flock here for skiing, hang-gliding, mountain biking and other activities.
