Powys
Powys occupies a huge swathe of central Wales, and takes in not one but two national parks, stretching from the Brecon Beacons the south right up to Snowdonia in the north. It encompasses the historic counties of Radnorshire and Montgomeryshire, and is varied, green and very, very attractive, with rolling hills, forests and lakes and the amount of castles you would expect in the much fought-over border country between the principality and England, You can explore much of the county along the Offa's Dyke long-distance path, either basing yourself deep in the green, rich countryside or in one of' number of Powys attractive market towns like Crickhowell or Machynlleth or even Hay-on-Wye, bang on the border. Either way, Powys is home to lots in the way of tucked-away, scenically situated hotels, B&Bs, pubs and inns – not to mention some of the best glamping sites in the country. All in all it's a beautiful and rather less explored part of Wales.Best Places to Stay in Powys Holidays – Accommodation and Places to Stay in Powys I Cool Places
