Tucked away in the old stables block of the The Bull hotel, this rustic bar/restaurant is a lively place serving great pizzas and a fine range of local ciders, perries and apple juices, both bottled and on draught. You can sit at large communal, wooden tables inside, or out in the courtyard if the weather is fine. The pizzas, which you can watch being made, are excellent, made with all local ingredients, such as Dorset blue vinney cheese. The Joe Gundry, with Bridport smoked mackerel, smoked salmon and spinach tastes even better than it sounds, and the homemade pies are good too – try the Dorset oggie, with spinach, pumpkin and feta cheese. There’s regular live music on Thursdays, upstairs in the hayloft.
