Lovely, grade II-listed 18th-century three-storey building that is now home to a fabulous, quirky café/restaurant/bar. There are four separate dining areas – some with open fires and wooden settles, others with stylish Georgian features – while the downstairs bar hosts live music and DJs on Friday and Saturday nights, and has a bar on rails that rolls back to make extra space for dancing. At lunchtime you can get locally sourced dishes such as a sausage baguette with chips; for dinner, try the ribeye steak or tomato and courgette gnocchi. Service is generally friendly and informal, and the food good quality.
