Opposite Brewer's Quay, the Galley Bar & Bistro is a lovely space with bare brick walls and a bit of an artsy atmosphere. Come on a warm summer's day, take one of the outside seats on lovely Hope Square and you could almost be in the Mediterranean, especially once you start tucking into starters such as whitebait or fresh local scallops with a cool bottle of white wine. Mains are good value, too, with fresh fish and daily specials from £15. On Sundays there's a more traditional vibe, with a popular carvery and all the trimmings.
