Kitchen at Drewton's
South Cave HU15 2AG
A Wolds success story – if you build
it, they will come. This multi-award-winning café, restaurant and farm shop is only 10 miles from central Hull, but feels much further, set high up in rolling farmland with sweeping views in all directions. Set on the family-owned Drewton Estate, the rather superior cafe and associated farm shop is at the heart of a mini-empire of fabulous foodiness. Come during the day for luscious breakfasts and
brunches, whether it's a zingy rarebit made with Wolds ale, crisp haddock and spring onion fishcakes, chargrilled burgers or a chicken Caesar salad. Many swear by the prettily served fish and chips too. There's coffee, afternoon tea and sandwiches too, of course, while selected evenings are turned over to curated seasonal menus of
locally sourced produce and ingredients. Drewton's has built its glowing reputation on serious quality – and it's a reputation that means you should book for a table at meal times, whenever you visit. Two cottages in the grounds – the converted Dairy and Old Cowshed – offer a comfortable stay if you're taken with the sweeping Wolds views.
